Soma (Carisoprodol) used for the treatment of muscle pain and discomfort. It is usually used with rest, physiotherapy and other types of treatment. It works by helping to relax the muscles.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Take this medication orally with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually 4 times a day. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. This medication should be used for the short term (3 weeks or less) unless directed by your doctor. Do not increase your dose or use this medication more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve faster, and your risk of side effects will increase. This medication may cause withdrawal reactions, especially if used regularly for a long time or at high doses. In such cases, sudden withdrawal symptoms (such as cramps in the stomach, insomnia, headaches, nausea) may occur if you stop using this medication suddenly. To prevent withdrawal reactions, your doctor may gradually reduce the dose. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details and immediately report any response to a review. Despite its benefits, this drug rarely leads to abnormal behavior in relation to drug use (addiction). This risk may be increased if you have ever used alcohol or drugs in the past. Take this medicine as prescribed to reduce the risk of addiction. Tell your doctor if your condition persists after 2-3 weeks or worsens.

Soma 350mg has been the only muscle relaxer I can get day time relief from. Flexiril makes me sleepy, and zombie feeling, just like tizainidine. I personally can take soma 350 mg 4xs a day and work, without it I am miserable. I do agree with a few comments other people have said, such as mixing alcohol (do NOT mix alcohol with prescription drugs) it causes bad response to your body, and you can not judge the medicine appropriately. One other is I agree with people on getting this medicine more retaly available for patients. If you have a medical diagnosed issue, soma is a great medicine (when used right). I don’t understand why it is labeled as being addicting, maybe because people are addicted to not having pain all the time. I just wish people would stop making life miserable for the people who need this medicine. Btw, I have major arthritis and also lower back/multiple disc problems and pain that I will have the rest of my life. I don’t use illegal drugs or drink alcohol, so this is the only thing I use I would say it’s a valid opinion
